Mike and Victoria choose the simplest and most delightful wedding ceremony. Just the two – they eloped from London to Skye and said their vows on the banks of the River Sligachan with a backdrop of the Cuillin and a bus load of fascinated tourists who watched and applauded from the ancient stone bridge nearby!
It was a particular joy for me as we were joined by one of my oldest friends who is a registrar on Skye to conduct the ceremony and a new friend recently moved to Skye and I witnessed Mike and Victoria’s vows. After the short ceremony we wandered and explored the paths around Sligachan before heading to the emptiness of Glenbrittle beach for a paddle.
This was the very essence of what is wonderful about elopements on Skye. Gentle August weather, amazing scenery, ceremonies wherever you choose in our wilderness and the freedom to make spontaneous choices to explore and find the best locations for your photography.
