An Eilean Donan Castle wedding

I love a huge, full on, local Skye wedding and when Kirsty and Neil married a year ago at Eilean Donan Castle it was exactly that sort of day ending in a fabulous party and wild ceilidh in the hall beside the castle.

We girls spent the morning getting ready at Kirsty’s parents beautiful home on Skye, with views across the water to the mountains on the mainland. Despite it being February the sun was streaming through the huge windows and there was snow on the hills. It was the perfect backdrop for a special day and our fears about the weather had been needless.

The banquetting hall at Eilean Donan Castle was full to bursting with friends and family for the ceremony and afterwards everyone spilled out onto the terrace to drink champagne in the sunshine.

In the late afternoon we moved to the hall to eat, drink and be very merry. These images are only snippets of a wonderful day.
