Hanneke and Andrew do life and adventure BIG. Their Isle of Skye wedding Eilean Donan Castle Skeabost House Hotel had to capture all of this! They have big hearts, a HUGE sense of living life, an enormous and wonderful collection of family and friends. When their wedding planner Anisha and I talked about the beautiful bouquet that Hanneke had chosen with wonderful florist Donald – only one word sprang to mind. BIGGER! On the day of the wedding Hanneke was moved to tears when she saw her bouquet – it matched her exactly – wild, elegant and stunningly beautiful.

The couple planned a wedding weekend for their guests, starting with an evening out in Portree, the  wedding day at Skeabost House Hotel with the most fun and chaotic getting ready party, travelling en masse to Eilean Donan Castle for their ceremony – with a short stop at Sligachan for a first look on the beautiful old bridge with a back drop of the Cuillin mountains. After the ceremony at Eilean Donan Castle and as the sun set, guests were entertained in the courtyard of the castle by a piper and highland dancers. After a million photos of the incredible sun set and the castle lit for nightfall the party headed back to their hotel to their reception. The following day they were hosted on a wonderful hike at the Quiraing by Mountain Freedom Tours and a relaxed reception at their hotel.

Travelling with a party of 40 guests from California to the Isle of Skye is not the easiest challenge at any time – when you are travelling for your dream wedding at Eilean Donan Castle, the challenge factors up some! And when the local council decides to dig up the road between your wedding venue and reception delaying your transport with all your guests aboard – what do you do? You get right off that bus in your wedding dress on an icy Skye night and sweet talk the road team!

The most incredible wedding party weekend and a cast of thousands made a wonderful day .
