Dream elopement at the Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye

Amelia said of their choice to have their dream elopement at the Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye

“Josh and I have been fortunate enough to travel to many different countries, so when it came to choosing a location, we knew we wanted it to be in Europe. After researching photographers, we stumbled upon Love Skye Photography and immediately knew the Isle of Skye was the perfect location with its beautiful, moody landscape and weather to match. It also helped [that] our photographer was from the area and knew all the magical locations to take us!”

These are the some of the reasons that Josh and Amelia chose to elope on the Isle of Skye. After an epic proposal on Iceland at the beautiful Kirkjufell, no wonder they sought the varied and dramatic Isle of Skye out for their elopement wedding ceremony and photography. After months of on line chat we met early one morning at the Fairy Glen with celebrant Davina, from Scottish Highland Weddings.

Handfasting, whisky drinking from a quaich (don’t worry I’ll help with the pronunciation!) and much laughter with our only other witnesses being sheep quietly grazing the slopes of the Fairy Glen’s hills.  After the ceremony we drove to the Fairy Pools. The rains and mist shrouding the mountains created a spectacular backdrop as we hiked and photographed and chatted about travels.
