Wild and romantic elopement and wedding photography on the Isle of Skye For those who adventure

Loch Coruisk, Isle of Skye Elopement

Riann and Simon eloped to Skye earlier this year. No-one knew they were coming to Skye to marry and they kept their secret for months after the ceremony before choosing just the right time to share the news with their families. The couple choose to take a boat trip across the sea to marry beside Loch Coruisk at the foot of the Cuillin ridge. As we set sail on the most astonishingly bright and crisply sunny early summer day (the only sunny day for a fortnight!) it was clear that providence was on their side.

The sea was calm, the view of the mountains was breath taking and the seals that we passed on our way to the landing steps at eyed us lazily and posed for photographs. Despite the beauty of the day our little party had the stunning setting of Loch Coruisk almost entirely to our selves as Riann and Simon said their vows in a moving Humanist ceremony. There was one unwanted and very persistent guest in the form of a large bee who seemed unwilling to leave Simon’s gorgeous vivid orange tie alone. Riann gently removed the wedding crasher. After the ceremony we chatted and photographed and the couple whirled their first dance on ancient rocks under the late afternoon rays of sun that pierced the jagged peaks of the mountain ridge.

A stroll back to the Misty Isle, a balmy cruise back to Elgol and some time on the beautiful little sandy beach by the pier completed the day.
