It would be fair to say that Alison and Mark faced some real challenges in the planning of their wedding. Twice they had to change venues and when they did find the perfect location for their wedding day, sailing to Loch Coruisk aboard the Misty Isle with a party of family and friends the weather failed them and it was too windy to sail. Undeterred by any of this Alison and Mark kept smiling and rose to each occasion with calm. The wedding was held on the beautiful and bijou beach at Elgol pier with a view across the stormy waves to the Cuillin. It was blustery and it was cold! At times Dee, the celebrant, struggled to make herself heard over the wind and waves and the beautiful old ritual of the warming of the wedding rings by the congregation has never been more needed. The day was also a lesson in how it throw confetti in a gale! It was also a day of laughter and extreme happiness. I’m so glad Alison and Mark chose me to document their day. Once we had enjoyed the bracing weather on the beach we all headed off to Creeler’s Restaurant in Broadford, where the bride and groom worked. It was the perfect intimate bistro setting for a wedding breakfast.
