Wild and romantic adventure and elopement photography on the Isle of Skye

Love from Tiree

Ever fancied escaping life for a while and doing something a little crazy? Ever fancied making your escape with two people you’ve never met before? Ever fancied sailing or flying to an idyllic island 3 hours from the Scottish mainland , unplugging from the outside world and enjoying a few days of strolling on beaches, laughing until you run out of breath, photographing your environment for the sheer joy of it and drinking wine with friends?

Me too. That’s why in August this year I was waiting, slightly anxiously at Tiree Airport for the flight from Glasgow to bring two on line friends into my real world. Over the last couple of years fellow photographers Carey and Tracy and I have bonded over a shared love of our work, wine o’clock, baking and nonsense. Somehow, somewhere in our online chats this year we decided we must get away for a weekend of photography and now it was real… AND… it was fabulous. We hunkered down in a beautiful cottage (very generously loaned by my artist cousin Fiona MacRae) at Balevullin beach. We spent days marvelling at and exploring the landscape and running along the beautiful white sands that typify Tiree, late afternoons saw a trip to the pub for gin and wi fi, followed by evenings cooking, eating and talking, talking, talking at the cottage.

Here’s the story of our Tiree Time…
