A Canadian wedding on the Isle of Skye

I got to know Bianca and Charles over skype and email – we share a love of the outdoors and I admire their tough mudder bravery! So I knew that they would be open to exploring and hiking on Skye and to meeting early in the morning to catch the best of the light and solitude on the day before their wedding for their casual engagement photographs. When I joined them and their family as they got ready for the wedding ceremony at the Eilean Donan cottage the following day it was just like being part of the family.

For their engagement photos we visited the Quiriaing, the Old Man of Storr and the area around Sligachan with it’s trails and hidden waterfalls and magnificent views of the Cuillin. Their ceremony was held at Eilean Donan Castle. As can sometimes happen here the rains came down after their ceremony and during their group photos but this group simply raised their umbrellas and carried on regardless. Their spirit was rewarded with a few moments of the most gorgeous rich, ochre light as the sun set and the skies cleared.
