A simple Isle of Skye wedding, Eilean Iarmain Hotel
I first met the delightful Emma and Tom a year or so prior to their simple Isle of Skye wedding, Eilean Iarmain Hotel. Although no firm plans were then in place I really hoped that their dream of an Isle of Skye wedding would be fulfilled. So I was thrilled when they called to arrange for me to photograph their wedding in October . A small affair, yet perfectly formed, with a week long celebration that saw the bride and groom bringing their closest family and friends to Skye.
The couple and guests stayed at the beautiful, cosy and totally Skye Eilean Iarmain Hotel on the stunning Sleat peninsula and married on a wild and wintry October day. After a ceremony at St Duthacs RC church, it was a day that involved Vegemite, Talisker (the dog!), Te Bheag (the whisky), friends and family from afar, eating, drinking and being merry – including a swim in a Scottish sea loch at 4 am.
Post wedding photoshoot
As the west coast weather closed in after the wedding ceremony everyone dashed back to the hotel for afternoon tea by a roaring fire and a very welcome whisky tasting. Huddling inside that evening we decided to make the most of the amazing Skye scenery with an post wedding shoot a couple of days later. What a wonderful decision. The relaxed and romantic portraits created on a sunny Skye Monday set the seal on this beautiful wedding.
