A pre wedding shoot on the Isle of Skye, bubble extravaganza and a beagle puppy
Fiona and Tatiana joked that they stole their friends beautiful summer wedding Eilean Donan Castle wedding as they booked the same venue and worked with many local wedding suppliers but really the day was undoubtedly theirs.
Bringing guests from around the world to Tatiana and Fiona’s wedding in the north west of Scotland often means that brides act as travel and planning guides, problem solvers and hosts all in one. I often suggest a little escape from all the wonderful wedding madness – either on the day or as Tatiana and Fiona did the evening before. It was a fabulous excuse to swap hiking gear and scrubs for gorgeous gowns and head off to parts of Skye where cell service has yet to reach. It was such a delight to enjoy the peace of the evening and the stillness of the mountains.
The brides also took the opportunity to exchange their vows for the first time in private – I was incredibly privileged to witness this and I would highly recommend it to any couple who feels nervous about their vows or simply wishes deepen that exchange.
The wedding was held at Eilean Donan Apartments, Castle and Dornie village hall. The brides got ready together at the apartments, (helped by Lynn) before dressing together and sharing a first look with their family and bridal party.
Then we strolled to the castle in the evening sunshine for a ceremony in the banqueting hall and drinks and speeches in the courtyard. A traditional village hall reception with emotional speeches and some wild ceilidh dancing followed.
