Telling a wedding elopement story that travels from Knoydart to Iceland via a ceremony at Camusdarach and coffee, pizza and dancing in the streets of Mallaig means there are many photos and much joy in this story!
Serendipity, as I said to Kathryn and Adam when we met in Knoydart the day before their Camusdarach beach wedding, is one of my favourite words. We fell into easy company and spent a day exploring Knoydart and the following day getting ready for the wedding, scooting to Mallaig from Knoydart on the sea taxi and travelling to the unsurpassable white sands at Arisiag for the ceremony. Serendipity in the company, the sunshine, the wonderful coffee shop in Mallaig who welcomed us with congratulations and coffees and the opening of the fabulous new pizza house where we nibbled on amazing pizzas and created a bit of stir with wedding dress, kilt and camera. The final serendipitous moment came a week later. I was in Iceland with my family celebrating a birthday – and who did we bump into at the Blue Lagoon? Kathryn and Adam on the last day of their honeymoon. It was the perfect place to toast each other with prosecco at the swim up bar!
