Wild and romantic elopement and wedding photography on the Isle of Skye For those who adventure

Loch Courisk, Isle of Skye elopement photography

When Kay peeked out of the window and looked across the sea to the Cuillin and towards Loch Coruisk where she and Adam were to marry in a couple of hours the giggliness of getting ready vanished and nerves set in.. Luckily we were quickly distracted by the chatter of her daughter who was helping to put the finishing touches to Kay’s make up. I love the easy intimacy of elopement weddings, the inclusiveness and sense of sharing in a couple’s day. This wedding was particulary sharing as we were also joined by my husband Andrew as a witness to the wedding. His main role was entertainer in chief to Neve but as he is also a photographer he couldn’t resist picking up the cameras from time to time and some of the images here are his.

The nerves soon disappeared as we stepped aboard the Eilean a’Cheo to sail across to Loch Scavaig. On the boat we chatted about climbing the Cuillin ridge (Adam – not me!), the wonders of the seal colony that we visited en route and made friends with Finn, the skippers colli,e who helps to crew the boat and keeps a keen eye on those pesky seals.

The ceremony was moving and the drama of the setting beside Loch Coruisk was simply beautiful.
