Iona and Gordon’s day was nothing short of beautiful. Iona belongs to Shieldaig a tiny village tucked on the north west coast and Gordon’s Edinburgh roots and love of Iona’s west coast, “thisplace” he said in his speech to Iona “where you shine”, meant that nowhere could have been more perfect for their day. Applecross, another tiny port along the coast, full of white washed cottages and tourists drawn by the lure of surviving the trip over the famous Bealach na Ba was the setting for their wedding day. The beautifully restored Clachan Church and the wonderful Walled Garden restaurant were as elegant and simply classical as every carefully designed detail of their day. Iona wore a breath taking gown by Amanda Wakeley and carried the most gorgeous bouquet, while Gordon’s undoubted highlight was driving his new bride from church to reception in his beautiful Alvis. Family are clearly very important to Iona and Gordon and they were surrounded by family and their roots on their day.

Yes, another smashing set of captures. (I’m running out of superlatives..) As a man, must say I love the car……although the shot of the Icelandic Poppy (?) is beautiful. Have to confess my only trips to Applecross have been to sample the fantastic food at The Applecross Inn. Lost count of the number of my visits…….
Thank you. We love the Applecross Inn and ate there 3 times that weekend! Himalayian Poppy (Meconopsis) is one of my favourite flowers. The food at the Walled Garden is also marvellous. We’re very lucky that we can be in Applecross in just over an hour …
Your photographs are absolutely stunning! I so enjoy seeing them.
Thank you so much Kimberly
