Snowy Skye elopement wedding

This snowy Isle of Skye elopement wedding was not part of our careful plan for the day! A sudden snow storm at the Quiraing  put paid to our intital plans for this t elopement  photography at the  Quiraing and Brothers Point. The drive to the Quiraing is famous for it’s hairpin bends, steep slopes and single tracked whimsy!  I was driving to the Quiraing from Staffin when the storm struck and ended up digging my car out by hand – while Mary and Jimmy were stranded at the parking area at the top of the hill – with no mobile reception! However, serendipity played it’s hand beautifully and when we did meet up ( I crept halfway back up the hill, Mary and Jimmy slid down ) it may not have been at our planned location but with the golden hour setting sun and the cliffs of the Quiraing lit up behind us it truly could not have been more perfect.

The light was magical and the snowfall topped the amazing beauty of the area as we gazed east to Torridon and south to the Old Man of Storr. Vows were exchanged, a quaich full of whisky shared and we simply took in the magic of the late afternoon. As the sun set we explored Brother’s Point, closely followed by a flock of curious sheep.

So many things came together to make this day special but what I really wanted to share about the day was my wish that when you choose someone to spend your days with you choose someone who looks at you as Mary and Jimmy look at the each other. Love wins.
