Meeting Jacqueline and Dan was one of life’s happy mishaps. Meeting them just 16 hours before I photographed their Isle of Skye elopement was extremely unusual.. Travelling from California to marry on their beloved Skye, the couple had to make unexpected emergency photography plans and fate (and the recommendation of photographer friends) brought us together. Accompanied by Dan’s father and Jacqueline’s close friend the small group made the most of their time on Skye. From walking the Trotternish ridge to enjoying jugs of Mimosa’s on the morning of the wedding this small and relaxed party could not have been more fun to photograph.
Jacqueline, being Brazilian, and living in California was, in particular, hoping for lush greens and some rain on her wedding day. Skye had other ideas and at the end of an unusually dry spell the colours were summer blue skies and the gentle golds of grasslands. Their day began with an intimate wedding service in the secluded gardens of the Kinloch Lodge Hotel after which we heading out on a portrait photo tour of Sleat..the light has never been more golden for a wedding day nor the scenery more perfect…..
